Masaki Yada
‘Rock n’ Roll’ (2009) oil and acrylic on wood 50 x 40 cm
Masaki is inspired by the painterly language both the old masters and the modern avant-garde. His work has a painterly skill which is a testament to his uncompromising pursuit of excellence. Masaki’s work is dense life-affirming images that symbolise light and blessings in life and that draw inspiration from the elegance of Japanese Zen aesthetics. HIs work reflects the celebration of life and spiritual fulfilment that are scarce in today’s world despite material abundance. His work ranges from the comparatively small (60 x 50 cm) to the comparatively large (120 x 180 cm).
Masaki gained an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art (2011) and an MA from Goldsmiths University of London in Contemporary Art Theory (2012). In 2017 Masaki’s work was included in the exhibition ‘Japan In The Danish Royal House’ at the Royal Museumin Copenhagen and two of his paintings were selected to be permanently included in the Danish Royal Collection.
